Shepherd’s Pie

When you are in the mood for a meaty, savoury, comfort-food classic, nothing comes close to this meat and potato ensemble.

Shepherd’s Pie comes to us from England, and is traditionally made with lamb or mutton. It is basically a hearty casserole with a layer of cooked meat, and sometimes vegetables, topped with mashed potatoes, and baked in the oven until the mashed potatoes are well browned.

For a lighter alternative, you could substitute the lamb mince with chicken.
